Dos – By applying to multiple learning styles in the classroom are we dumbing down our future?

I spent the afternoon in a discussion with a coworker discussing the impact of adaptive learning in classrooms.  Originally it started with Higher Education but filtered down to the K-12 education.  How do you feel?  Should we be tailoring learning to the students or will students benefit more from having to learn to adapt on their own?
